Shell is a Palestinian-Australian who lives in Melbourne with her two cheeky children Eva and Dane, where she spends most of her time averting their disasters. She turns each of their pickles into a new book which she writes after dark, on those special nights her children have not changed the password to her PC.
She loves rock climbing at Gariwerd/the Grampians and Dyurrite/Mt Arapiles. She has a background as a journalist, and her favourite stints were at the Hamilton Spectator and Fairfax Community News. She lives with an intimidating Chihuahua, Laika, and rescue kittens, Tokyo and Quinn.

Berna Rode - Illustrator
Berna is an obsessive illustrator, animator, photographer and film producer. His inspirations include works from the Ghibli and Pixar studios. As a child, Berna lived for drawing; now, when a child enjoys one of his works, it gives him a huge sense of fulfillment.
Berna comes from Bariloche, Argentina, where he illustrates First Grade Crew, and also produces epic climbing films for Bengas Brothers Expeditions.
He’s ecstatic that his creative roles allow him to often work from home and spend the day with his girlfriend Michi, and his cat Pichina. He plans to visit Australia, New Zealand and Japan in the near future.

Jess has a background in science and scientific writing, but is loving turning his hand to the cacophonous comedy and colour of the First Grade Crew series.
He lives in Melbourne, Australia, and loves nothing more than a long game of Dungeons and Dragons, or an afternoon spent rock climbing in the sunshine.
When he's not editing and formatting for the First Grade Crew, he manages climbing gyms and coaches the technical elements of climbing.
